Reza’s apartment is very nice—I don’t know why he was so concerned about taking me there. It’s pretty Spartan, but very clean for a place that three guys are sharing.
He has two roommates. Also Iranian.
They are… invisible.
At some point I heard voices.
I guess the arrangement was that they stay in their rooms while I was over?
And before I needed to use the bathroom, he went into the hallway to make sure the coast was clear.
It was a little weird.
But not too much.
And I was pretty quiet.
And in the morning, we had the place to ourselves, and he made me breakfast.
Runny sunny side-up eggs, and very thinly sliced tomato.
Crazy strong coffee.
It was good.
And I said the eggs were delicious, even though they weren’t.
