It’s the kids’ Reading Break—University of British Columbia, where Tyler’s doing his first year—but I told you that already—anyway, UBC had the whole week off, and Queen’s, where Cody and Nika are, is off from today. But they aren’t coming home, why would they—Cody’s never come, “It’s for studying, Mom, this is university not an American movie,” he told me in his first year away when I asked him if he was coming home for Spring Break, and by the time Tyler went away for his first year, I was trained.
I didn’t ask, I didn’t expect.
But I would have liked them to come this year.
Because…
Well.
You know.
But I didn’t ask.
Because…
You know.

sugar&spice76: So your Spring Break is called Reading Days and takes place in February?
weliketoparty: Spring Break is awesome!
LetsBuildAWall: Reading Days instead of Spring Break? Is Canada the lamest nation on Earth or what?
BeautifulThingsEveryday: OMFG, the Internet idiots arrive. The point is her husband is a cheating asshat, he moved out, she’s lonely, and she misses her kids.
susan-oh-susan: That is, pathetically, sadly, the point. Am I whining? I’m whining. I don’t care. I miss my kids.
