Hey, I’ve got another class! Writing dirty to ramp up your writing game in any genre #writingclass

So if you’re in yyc and you didn’t get into my More Than A Guilty Pleasure class but you’ve heard amazing things about me (;P), you can catch me on Sat, October 13 at this one-day workshop:

Writing Erotica: a filthy flirty workshop for the bold and the shy alike // Sat. October 13 // one day workshop

Whether you love to write dirty, wish you could (but you can’t, OMG, how do people even think such things!!), or wonder what the heck’s wrong with authors who do, this workshop will help you apply the tools and rules that make for good, effective “can’t stop turning the pages” erotica to all of your writing. The workshop Includes some Freefall-style writing exercises to seduce your inner muse, ruthless editing tips, and guidelines on how to beta-read and critique steamy sex scenes.

Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society @ cSpace, 1721 29 Ave SW, Calgary AB

Sat, October 13, 10-3:30 pm

Yes, you have to pre-register, sorry kittens–we can’t run the class unless we know we’ve got enough people coming, kwim? I promise to be scintillating and only a little embarrassing.

All genders welcome; queer and trans friendly space.

All genres welcome: good erotica is the HARDEST thing to write. Really. The exercises and techniques I will share with you will help you make your writing stronger no matter what you usually write.

As to heat levels–well, we will be talking about how to write about sex. So. There’s kinda no getting away from that.

And I’m not clinical. 😉

Still. I think you’ll enjoy.

See you on the 13th?

About mjanecolette

Writer. Reader. Angster. Reformed Bohemian (not). Author of the erotic romance Tell Me, the erotic tragedy (with a happy ending) Consequences (of defensive adultery), the award-winning rom-com (she's versatile) Cherry Pie Cure, and the just released TEXT ME, CUPID--a (slightly dirty) love story for 21st century adults who don't believe in love... but want it anyway. A sought-after speaker and present, Colette is also the author of the non-fiction collection of essays Rough Draft Confessions: not a guide to writing and selling erotica and romance but full of inside inside anyway, and the curator of the fab YYC Queer Writers anthologies Queer Christmas in Cowtown and Screw Chocolate. Coming in 2019: Once Upon A Queer Summer Night's in Cowtown.
