I want to tell you HOW I met MANHATTAN WILDE and WHY she’s going to be performing for you at SULTRY & sweet SUMMER reads YYC on June 24… but I can’t. Because I want you to experience what I experienced when you see her take the stage at our Romance Novel Fest. But I do want you to meet her and have a… little taste of what to expect.

If you’re a fan of burlesque–you’re in for a treat. If you’re afraid of burlesque–this is the perfect introduction. If you want to celebrate the awesomeness that is female power, sensuality, and sexuality–well, that’s why we read and write romance, right? Manhattan’s gonna interpret that to you through dance.

So. Introducing… MANHATTAN WILDE.

MANHATTAN WILDE entered the burlesque community in November of 2008 as an emcee extraordinaire for the Garter Girls burlesque troupe. Over the past 10 years, this dynamic dame has been shamelessly breaking hearts and ego’s ever since…Audiences can’t help but indulge in her beguiling composition of sultry elegance and razor sharp wit.  She is a proud member of Calgary’s very own neoburlesque brigade, Peppurrmint Parlour and has an extensive performance background in various local landmarks such as The Ironwood, Arts Commons and the Arratta Opera House. She’s also performed for fabulous entertainment ensembles such as Nerdgasm Collective, Naked Girls Reading, Burlesque in the Basement, Sin n’ Gin Cabaret, Burlesque Brunch YYC, Grundhaus…and more! Last October, Maddie was awarded the esteemed privilege to perform among kings and queens at the Calgary International Burlesque Festival’s ​ 2017 Glamour Showcase  – where she stepped out from behind the mic and revealed a whole new side of her showgirl persona through the art of striptease.
