And the winner in the CHICK LIT category of the 2018 Next Generation Indie Book Awards is…

🍒

So… I’m back from and I have some BIG NEWS. Ready? There was some 🍒 CHERRY MAGIC🍒 happening last week, kittens. On Monday and Tuesday, I took Cherry Adair’s Plotting Master Class, which changed my life. And on Wednesday, I heard that 🍒CHERRY PIE CURE🍒 won the 2018 Next Generation Indie Book Award in the Chick Lit Category. WAH!!

ABOUT IBA: The Next Generation Indie Book Awards is the largest Not-for-Profit book awards program for indie authors and independent publishers. In its twelfth year of operation, the Next Generation Indie Book Awards was established to recognize and honor the most exceptional independently published books in over 70 different categories, for the year, and is presented by Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group (www.IBPPG.com ) in cooperation with Marilyn Allen of Allen O’Shea Literary Agency.

It’s a juried, independent award with a lot of prestige, AND I AM SO FUCKING THRILLED I can’t even begin… but you know. You know. 🙂

MORE MAGIC: As I got the email and started to hyperventilate… I walked straight into Christine Ludwick. Christine, kittens, was the FIRST real reader of 🍒Cherry Pie Cure🍒. We met in an elevator at RT17. I was moaning that I had really wanted the Sylvia Day tote bag but I was too late through the doors to get it—she, as an RT regular, said she had a collection of them—did I want hers? Did I ever! Could I give her something for it? I had given away all my copies of Tell Me at that point… but I had a printer’s proof of 🍒Cherry Pie Cure🍒. So. Christine gave me the bag. I gave her the book. Minutes later, she tweeted at me that she was binge reading it and peeing her pants. At RT17, drowning in the year’s best romance books! #bestreview

And here’s me and Christine at RT18, me telling her about the award MINUTES after I got the email:

🍒MORE CHERRY MAGIC🍒: When the 2018 Next Generation Indie Book Awards nominations opened, the incredible Lolly de Jong, who had just finished reading Cherry Pie Cure, told me to nominate it. I said, I’d love to—but the contest entry fee just wasn’t in my budget. Next thing I knew, there was an e-transfer from her in my inbox, paying my entry fee.

I am so, so, so GRATEFUL.

I can’t go to New Orleans to accept the award (I get a medal! A certificate! A CHEQUE!!) because the ceremony is on June 22—and you know on June 24, we are getting SULTRY in Calgary—but Lolly will be in Louisiana and will, judges and organizers willing, accept the award for me. 🍒 Which is kinda more MAGIC.

I am so happy-grateful-flattered-thrilled-goofy-high-giddy, kittens. đź’‹đź’‹

I realize most of you already own the book and have read it multiple times (thank you ❤ <3) but if you don’t, here’s the universal buy link: get CHERRY PIE CURE in any format (except audio) for any device (including paper)

And the story of HOW and WHY 🍒Cherry Pie Cure🍒 got written is pretty funny, so you can read about it here: HOW A STORY IS BORN

THANK YOU!!
