I want to tell you the story of how Phoebe Alexander and I met, because it’s another one of those great “this is why the Internet exists” stories. We are both members of Romance in Her Prime, a FB Group dedicated to celebrating 35+ heroines in romantic fiction, organized by Lisa Salvary (who, btw, has a fab blog called royallionesslisa.wordpress.com). Lisa posted a question to the group, asking us what themes we liked in our Romance In Her Prime stories. Empty nester? Something else? I wrote:
“I really like anything that busts that Madonna/Whore dichotomy. Stories in which she’s a good mother AND a passionate lover… and this isn’t a conflict to be solved, it’s just the way it is.”
Phoebe commented: “I love this! basically the theme of my Mountains Trilogy books.”
We started talking, and checking out each other’s books and forming a mutual admiration society, and so of course I invited her to be part of the Consequences Audio Tour! I’m doubly-grateful she accepted my invitation because I later found out she was releasing a new novel—Christmas in the Mountains—on 11/11—and I know how much work supporting a new release takes, so thank, thank you, thank you, Phoebe!
