Today, we begin…

You: Are you ready?

Me: Not even a little bit. I’m terrified, frozen, paralyzed, afraid to begin.

You: What are you going to do?

Me: Jump. Press publish, send, go. What else can one do?

And so, we begin. With… just, I think, this:

Her: But I think your first post should be really kick-ass. Powerful. You know? Stop the world in its axis and make it really pay attention.

Me: But if I do that, I will never do anything… my first post just has to BE. An outtake. Words on the floor. A promise of something to come. That’s all.

Him: There are no readers for the first post anyway. It doesn’t matter. It’s a throw-away.

Me: Words on the floor.

Him: Precisely.

Me: And tomorrow?

Him: Tease again. And again. But be ready to deliver.

Me: I will.

THE BOOK: Coming from Mischief, the erotica imprint of Harper Collins UK, in March 2015. In the meantime, sign up to follow this blog? Teasers (taste Tell Me) coming every Tuesday.

I’m leaving this post up here for legacy/historical reasons, but for fuck’s sake–what was I thinking, blogging five times a week?

Yeah. Expect a post once a week at the most, kittens. Cause I’ve got books to write.

About mjanecolette

Writer. Reader. Angster. Reformed Bohemian (not). Author of the erotic romance Tell Me (Harper Collins, 2015), the erotic tragedy (with a happy ending) Consequences (of defensive adultery) (coming May 2 2017), and the rom-com (she's versatile) Cherry Pie Cure (releasing June 15, 2017), as well as the non-fiction collection of essays Rough Draft Confessions: not a guide to writing and selling erotica and romance but full of inside inside anyway (GENRES were made to be BROKEN, 2017). Closet poet. Currently torturing novels four, five, and six simultaneously. Which is not a good idea.
